This simple to operate controller is designed around industry standard building emergency alert/evacuate requirements. Modes of operation:
Auto The alert tone is generated when a signal is received from the fire indicator board (FIB). After a preset time the evacuate tone is sounded unless the alert tone is manually reset. The evacuation tone continues until manually reset. When selected to auto, front panel alert and evac controls are inoperative. Other controls such as paging, bell chime and BGM function normally.
Manual In the manual position any of the functions may be initiated from the controls on the front panel, i.e. Alert, Evac, or PA.
Remote cancel function Terminals are provided for the connection of a remote cancel switch. When activated with a closing set of contacts this will cancel any activated tone, regardless of the position of the master auto/manual/isolate keyswitch on the front panel. This is particularly useful when the main equipment may not be readily accessible.
Other functions Provision has been made for a BGM source to be played through the controller. BGM is automatically muted when any other function is operated. A microphone input has been included on the front panel. This can be used for either general or emergency paging. Paging overrides all other functions. A pre-announcement chime is available on the microphone input. This can be switched on or off internally as preferred. Included is a unique tone or bell chime for signalling lunch breaks, start of class etc. This can be operated from the front panel or via contacts on the rear panel for remote activation ie. by a time clock or remote switch.

The A 2072 Voice Over Module will digitally record an audio message up to 16 seconds via a microphone, and when triggered, play the message back. It is designed for fire evacuation systems, display stands, alarm systems etc where an external switch will trigger the unit to play a message through an amplifier. The digitally stored message is retained indefinitely with power applied, and up to 10 years without. Because there are no moving parts the message can be played over and over without any loss in reproduction quality.
The Voice Over Module can be used as a stand alone unit or will interface directly into the REDBACK A 2070 Chime Announcement Module. When used with the A 2070 Tone Generator the module interrupts every 4th cycle of the evacuation tone and automatically replays the recorded message twice.

This module has been designed to monitor the integrity of 100V Line speaker circuits. It is connected between the amplifier output and the speaker circuit. The module will detect one of three speaker line conditions. (Normal, Short Circuit or Open Circuit). LED indication is provided for each condition. A switched output is provided for each of the fault conditions. These may be used for sounding an alarm or muting the input of the amplifier to prevent excessive current draw in the event of a short circuit. Several modules may be connected to one amplifier for multi-zone installations. A 1032 Audio distribution module: The heart of the system is a compact hub which connects to audio sources and powered volume controls. Two source inputs can be connected via stereo RCA sockets. Each of the powered volume controls is wired back via one Cat 5e UTP and one figure 8 cable. These communication cables carry both audio and power. Two IR emitter ports are included to provide remote control to the source equipment.

A 1035 Remote source input wallplate: Allows connection of 1 or 2 source devices in a remote location via Cat5e cable. This is perfect for structured installations where cabling is run to a central location but source equipment is located in home theatre or living room.
